This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a morning briefing on March 24.
Thus, due to the significant losses that the Russian occupiers suffer every day, they decided to increase the number of beds in existing hospitals operating in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region.
In particular, in the village of Troitske, the number of beds in the military hospital was doubled from 200 to 400. At the same time, all wounded officers were evacuated to the territory of the Russian Federation by helicopters between March 17 and 18.
Also, between March 17 and March 21, mortality rate among the wounded invaders increased. This is due to an increase in the number of seriously wounded and poor medical care, in particular due to insufficiently professional medical staff.
Ukrainian troops repelled almost 80 Russian attacks in 5 directions
The enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions.
Thanks to professional and coordinated actions, Ukrainian defenders repelled over 79 enemy attacks.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down 2 X-59 missiles and 4 drones, and also destroyed a control center
Over the past day, March 23, Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of occupiers' personnel and military equipment.
Ukrainian defenders also shot down two X-59 guided missiles and 4 UAVs of various types.
Missile and artillery units hit a command post, an area where Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, an anti-aircraft missile system and 2 fuel and lubricant depots.
Russia carried out 37 air and 4 missile strikes in Ukraine over the day
On March 23, the Russian military carried out 37 air strikes and 4 missile strikes, one of which was on Kramatorsk. The enemy also fired 82 times from multiple launch rocket systems.
The possibility of missile attacks remains high throughout Ukraine.
Situation in different directions
The operational situation in the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian borders remains unchanged.
The Russian Federation continues to maintain its military presence in the territory of the Belarusian Republic. However, no offensive groupings were observed.
At the same time, the Russians continued to equip the terrain in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions.
The Russian army fired mortars and cannon artillery at more than 20 areas of different settlements. Among them: 1 settlement in Chernihiv region; 2 in Sumy region, and 13 in Kharkiv region.
At the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the Russian troops shelled 5 localities in Kharkiv region, 6 in Luhansk region, as well as 3 in Donetsk region with artillery.
In the Bakhmut direction, the occupying forces did not stop storming Bakhmut. Most battles in the sector took place in the vicinity of this city over the last day. Also, enemy attacks were repelled in the vicinity of 3 localities in Donetsk region.
The Russian army fired at 11 localities in Donetsk region. In total, more than 15 settlements were affected by such criminal actions of the occupiers.
In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions, the Russian forces carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of 8 localities in Donetsk region.
In particular, 15 localities in the Donetsk region came under numerous hostile attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian enemy continues to defend itself.
At the same time, they carried out intense shelling, in particular, in the 13 settlements of Zaporizhzhia region, 5 of Kharkiv region and the city of Kherson itself.
