The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Over the past day, Russia launched 10 missile strikes, 67 airstrikes, and 97 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. However, about 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the Russian army tried to break through the defense. Artillery and mortar shelling damaged more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled over 10 attacks near Andriivka, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka, and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region, where the Russian forces were trying to improve their tactical position. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army, supported by air power, tried to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops in the areas of Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defense 10 times. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian soldiers, with the support of aviation, made one unsuccessful attempt to attack the Ukrainian positions near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, 14 unsuccessful attacks were made on the Ukrainian troops’ positions near the village of Krynky, Kherson region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 9 manpower concentration areas and 1 anti-aircraft missile system.

The missile troops destroyed 1 control center, 2 air defense facilities, 1 artillery unit, 1 UAV control center, and 2 military positions.

  • On April 5, Deputy Interior Minister Oleksii Sergeiev, at a meeting with representatives of the Christian Social Union in the Bavarian state parliament, said that the Russian Federation had fired about 30,000 times at Ukrainian territory in the first three months of 2024.
