China quietly gains strength as U.S. loses influence worldwide — diplomat
Given the current course of events, the ongoing tensions between Beijing and Taipei are likely to benefit and yield results in Beijing's favor
Ukrainian politician and diplomat Roman Bezsmenrtnyi shared his views in an interview with Antin Borkovskyi, host of the Studio West program on Espreso TV.
"This means that the tension there will continue to rise. It is already visible – another place where the U.S. will be forced to divert attention. This will quickly reveal the insidious game of the Moscow Führer, because all these wars and conflicts are directly related to Moscow," he said.
Bezsmenrtnyi noted that the coordination within the so-called axis of evil has been apparent for a long time in all tensions and military actions in the Middle East. However, he pointed out one problem:
"The attack on the Houthis was ineffective, but after that, everyone went silent. The reason for this is that it was based on the operation conducted on January 12, 2024. However, unlike the current situation, that operation involved the British, Italians, Germans, French, and Americans, and it was more than successful. But at the moment, when the US conducted this operation by the old methods and failed to achieve the desired results, they are now outside the information field, blackmailing Europe and Egypt to settle for what, supposedly, has been achieved," he said.
He added that all of this destroys trust, undermining the trust that existed between NATO partners and partners in economic and trade cooperation.
In reality, Donald Trump is only helping Beijing. Beijing will evidently lead foreign policy at this point, quietly carrying out this process, Bezsmenrtnyi said.
"It’s no coincidence that today we hear from Beijing the need to cooperate with Europe, and in the day before yesterday’s speech at the European Parliament session, the President of the European Commission said that we will need to look for other partners to cooperate with. In such conditions, it is clear that the world’s picture, especially in the economic and security fields, will change. And unfortunately, it will change not in favor of the U.S.," he added.
He also noted: "For us, it is important that what Alexander Stubb said during golf to Donald Trump about the role of the Ukraine-Europe union be a priority for both Ukraine and Europe in the current situation. I'm not even mentioning the issue related to developing a joint defense-industrial complex within the European community," summarized the diplomat.
- On Tuesday, April 1, Chinese military forces began drills near Taiwan, with army, naval, air, and missile troops involved.
