"Some people in Washington were crying": Ukrainian Congress Committee of America on Trump’s statements and policy
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, Andriy Dobryansky, said that the policy of Donald Trump's administration came as a shock to many Americans
He shared this during a broadcast on Espreso.
"We know that within President Trump's administration, his circle, and among his supporters, there is a wave of anti-Ukrainian voices. For example, Vice President J.D. Vance, who said last year that his main goal was to change U.S. policy toward Ukraine. Many people around Trump are seeking and using every opportunity to change the policy toward Ukraine," Dobryansky explained.
According to Andriy Dobryansky, many Americans do not understand the direction taken by Donald Trump's administration. Many are concerned about the potential rapprochement between the US and Russia.
"A lot of changes are happening in the U.S. U.S. policy toward our enemy is changing, sanctions against Russia are being discussed, etc. In fact, red lines for the US suddenly disappeared. I talk to many people from Washington. People ask me and don't know what's going on. Some people from Washington just cried yesterday. They don't know the direction the U.S. has taken. Whether the U.S. remains the country that supported the world’s security order after 1945. For many Americans who lived through the Cold War and the next generation that understands who the main enemy is, it is very difficult and complicated to understand the next steps of the U.S.," he added.
