Trump reacts to Zelenskyy's peace agreement statement: "He doesn’t want peace"

U.S. President Donald Trump responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement regarding a peace agreement, calling it the worst one, which the U.S. will not tolerate for long. He shared his thoughts on the Truth Social platform.

"This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?" Trump said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president commented on a potential agreement to end the war.

“We are talking today about the first steps, and until they are on paper, I wouldn’t want to go into too much detail. We are very far from a peace agreement. No one has started all these steps,” Zelenskyy said, as quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

• Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick stated that his country would not provide money to Ukraine if it "does not strive for peace."
