Netherlands to send last promised F-16 fighter jet to Ukraine soon, says Defense Minister
Dutch Minister of Defense, Ruben Brekelmans, announced that on Monday, May 26, his country will send the last promised F-16 to Ukraine
WNL reported the information.
"This means that all 24 fighter jets will soon be in Ukraine," said Brekelmans.
The statement from the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense came amid an intensification of Russian airstrikes on Ukraine. He condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of May 25, emphasizing that Putin continues his aggression at full speed.
"He shows no intention of seriously discussing a ceasefire," he stressed.
The minister emphasized the importance of continuing pressure on Russia and providing maximum support to Ukraine. In addition to the previously announced support package, he announced that the last F-16 will be officially delivered to Ukraine next week.
"Moreover, we are training pilots and technicians and sharing our military doctrines so that Ukraine can build a modern military force according to NATO member standards," added Brekelmans.
- Furthermore, Norway plans to complete the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by 2025. Some of the aircraft have already been delivered.
