Netanyahu says second phase of war with Hamas has started
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the deployment of new ground forces into Gaza
The Times of Israel reported the information.
Netanyahu explained that Israel's objectives include dismantling Hamas' military and governance capabilities and ensuring the safe return of hostages. He highlighted that these soldiers are part of a long history of Jewish warriors spanning over 3,000 years.
"We remember, and we are fighting. To defeat the murderous enemy, and to ensure our existence in our land," Netanyahu emphasized when describing the soldiers' mission.
Netanyahu clarified that the decision to initiate a ground assault had received unanimous support from both the military and security cabinets.
On October 28th, Israel reported that IDF fighter jets had targeted 150 underground sites in the northern Gaza Strip, including terrorist tunnels, underground combat positions, and other related infrastructure.
Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the elimination of Issam Abu Rukbeh, the head of the Hamas air force, and Rateb Abu Sahiban, the head of the Hamas naval force, in an overnight airstrike.
