NATO has trained, equipped more than 9 AFU brigades, more than 98% of equipment promised to Ukraine already delivered - Stoltenberg
More than 98% of the combat vehicles promised to Ukraine by NATO and partners have already been delivered, including more than 1,500 armored vehicles, 230 tanks and other equipment and ammunition
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday during a meeting with Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel.
"Overall, through the Contact Group led by the United States, NATO Allies and partners have provided unprecedented support to Ukraine. More than 98 percent of the combat vehicles promised to Ukraine have already been delivered. That means over 1,550 armoured vehicles, 230 tanks and other equipment, including vast amounts of ammunition. In total we have trained and equipped more than nine new Ukrainian armoured brigades. This will put Ukraine in a strong position to continue to retake occupied territory," the NATO Secretary General said.
Stoltenberg added that at the Vilnius Summit, NATO plans to intensify its multi-year support program for Ukraine. He also noted that one of the topics of the summit will be increasing investment in the defense of the Alliance.

The day before, on April 26, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, also assured that Ukraine had received more than 98% of the promised equipment. Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the President’s Office, commented on these figures during the telethon. He agreed that the weapons that are now coming to Ukraine are enough for "certain actions," but emphasized that "weapons are never enough when you have an enemy like Russia."
