More than 65,000 munitions defused, where they were found - press officer of the State Emergency Service
Since the beginning of the war, more than 65,000 munitions have been defused by pyrotechnicians, including about 2,000 air bombs, a territory of about 9,000 hectares has been surveyed, the invader scattered and used explosive objects chaotically and massively, if suspicious or dangerous objects are found, call 101 and 102
Oleksandr Khorunzhy, press officer of the State Emergency Service, spoke on Espreso TV about the disposal of munitions by rescuers and advice to residents of different cities on how to behave when explosive objects are found.
The press officer noted: "The invader scattered and used explosive objects chaotically and massively, so we can meet them in the most unexpected places. Since the beginning of the war, pyrotechnicians have defused more than 65,000 munitions and, attention, about 2,000 of them are bombs. About 9,000 hectares of territory has been surveyed".
"We have recorded cases of people blown up by explosive objects which often are disguised, there may be boxes, gadgets. People are in a hurry to return home, but they do not imagine what danger it could be. I advise you to listen to the military-civilian administrations, we are working closely with bodies of the CAA and local authorities and transmit information about the already cleared territories. We also work at the request of people. If you notice any suspicious or dangerous object, it is better to call 101 and 102", the representative of the State Emergency Service emphasized.
The press officer spoke in more detail about the places where invaders often hid dangerous objects: "The F1 grenade was simply put in a glass so a person can simply come up and pick up this glass. We found trip wires on washing machines, including mined cars, trip wires at the entrance to the room, disguised as opaque bottles and bags. We showed how our rescuers cleared a shopping bag, and it contained a deadly mine MON 50. These are standard types of ammunition: shells, anti-personnel mines, grenades, cluster ammunition elements, etc. Now they use mines that do not act on touch, but have seismic sensors, so a person can come close and this mine can detonate".
"I emphasize once again that you need to be as careful as possible, and if you notice an explosive object, you need to return the same way you came and be as far as possible. Call the rescuers 101 or 102, if possible, mark this area and wait for the State Emergency Service workers", emphasized Oleksandr Khorunzhy.
