More than 1,000 civilians are killed in Kharkiv region, twice as many are injured

More than 1,000 civilians have been killed in the Kharkiv region, including 50 children. Twice as many have been injured.

This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"The aggressor state is terrorizing and killing civilians... More than 1,000 civilians have already died on the territory of Kharkiv and the region, and twice as many have been injured. Among the killed are 50 children. The youngest person to die from the aggressor's actions is a 5-month-old baby," the message of the press service said.

According to Oleksandr Filchakov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, today law enforcement officers are investigating almost 3,500 crimes that violate the laws and customs of war, almost 85% of them are related to the bombing of civilian infrastructure.

"Today, law enforcement officers are investigating almost three and a half thousand crimes related to violations of the laws and customs of war. Among them, almost three thousand are crimes related to the bombing of civilian infrastructure, about 50 are related to murders, and more than 120 are related to illegal  deprivation of liberty. Almost 300 crimes related to looting and 4 related to rape are also being investigated," the prosecutor's office writes.

Every day the Russian army launches dozens of rockets in the Kharkiv region and fires artillery at populated areas.

"More than 7,000 buildings in the city and region, 2,800 high-rise buildings, almost 1,800 residential buildings, more than half a thousand educational institutions and one and a half hundred hospitals have already been completely or partially destroyed," Filchakov said.
