Ukrainian serviceman Tymochko on Chasiv Yar canal bridge destruction

Ivan Tymochko, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman and head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces, highlighted that the enemy's tactics now include flanking maneuvers alongside direct assaults on Chasiv Yar

He stated it on Espreso TV.

"The Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal presents a significant obstacle to enemy movement. However, the destruction of the bridge across the canal means that our troops are unfortunately unable to access the other side. Defense lines are being established towards the protection of Chasiv Yar. Destroying bridges aims to impede enemy movement and limit their logistics. While everything destroyed will be rebuilt over time, the priority is to inflict maximum damage on the enemy and deter their advancement," said the military officer.

The officer continued, stating that the invaders are attempting not only a direct assault on Chasiv Yar but also flanking maneuvers. However, they have been unable to push back our troops in the Ivanivske and Andriivka directions.

"Unfortunately, the demands of combat require strengthening the frontline and obstructing the enemy's advance. There is great anticipation for the arrival of allied weapons to Chasiv Yar in sufficient quantities. We understand that logistics in active combat take time. Defending Chasiv Yar is crucial as it serves as a launching point for offensives on Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. Although seeing destruction is unpleasant, we must acknowledge that our troops are responding to battlefield challenges," explained Ivan Tymochko.
