Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this.
Syrskyi emphasized that "one of the priorities of the defense operation is the destruction of enemy artillery."
“In 2024 alone, 13,000 Russian artillery systems were destroyed. This is more than in the previous two years of full-scale invasion. In total, the enemy's losses in artillery systems amount to almost 23,000 units, plus 1,269 neutralized Russian MLRS,” said Syrskyi.
He also noted that “the effective counter-battery work of Ukrainian artillery and the large-scale use of unmanned units have effectively nullified the initial dominance of the Russian invaders' artillery on the battlefield.”
- Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in December 2024, the Defense Forces hit more than 54,000 enemy targets with drones.
