Ukraine greenlights 50 new domestically made ammunition types in July
During July 2025, Ukraine's Defense Ministry codified and approved for use in the Defense Forces 50 new types of ammunition. All of them are domestically produced
The press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported the information, citing the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Armaments and Military Equipment.
Among those approved for use in July, cumulative and engineering munitions predominate.
“The list also includes the latest high-explosive, fragmentation, and thermobaric munitions for unmanned aerial vehicles,” the Defense Ministry added.
They also noted that in the first seven months of 2025, the defense department codified almost 160 new types of Ukrainian-made ammunition.
“This is almost as many as in the entire year of 2024 — last year, about 170 new types of ammunition were codified,” the Defense Ministry said.
In July 2025, Ukraine's Defense Ministry approved for use in the Defense Forces about 140 new models of weapons and military equipment (WME), of which only 15% are of foreign production.
