Roman Pohorilyi, co-founder of DeepState, believes that the loss of Avdiivka is a matter of time

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"The situation in Avdiivka is currently very difficult. The issue of Avdiivka is a matter of time. Because the enemy is razing absolutely everything to the ground, from buildings to the positions of our soldiers. The occupiers are doing it with the help of anti-aircraft guns. Avdiivka and the surrounding area are being destroyed without mercy. There is no point in holding some positions anymore, and the fighters are forced to leave. There is a big question: what about after Avdiivka, how are the defensive fortifications being prepared?” Pohorily emphasized.

According to the co-founder of DeepState, Russian troops already have full fire control.

"Getting in and out of Avdiivka is a lottery. The occupiers are shooting at everything. The Zenit position is already under enemy control. The Russians are moving to Lastochkyne, while the Khimik area remains inside. The occupiers are concentrating their forces there to get in. The Russians have no tactics anymore. Wherever they can, they are just storming incessantly. The Russians continue to bring manpower and equipment to Avdiivka," added Pohorilyi.

  • Russian troops are increasing pressure on Avdiivka, Donetsk region. The situation in the city is critical. Russia has begun to regularly use phosphorus munitions and anti-aircraft guns.
  • ISW writes that Russian troops are conducting a “tactical turning movement” through Avdiivka, which may create conditions that will force the Ukrainian Defense Forces to leave their positions in the town.
  • The situation in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, is "extremely critical." Soldiers of the Third Assault Brigade have been redeployed to this area.
  • In his address on February 15, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the situation at the front, particularly in Avdiivka and in eastern Ukraine in general. He stressed that every effort is being made in Avdiivka to preserve as many Ukrainian lives as possible.
  • The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that the defense operation in Avdiivka continues.
  • Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier with the call sign Sheikh, Yevhen Iyevlyev, said that the situation in Avdiivka is quite critical, but the Ukrainian forces are not leaving.
