Russian military transports troops, gear through Mariupol
Significant Russian troop and equipment movements were spotted passing through occupied Mariupol on June 26, heading in multiple directions
Petro Andriushchenko, the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, wrote about this on Telegram.
More than 7 platforms with armored vehicles, including tanks, and over 40 trucks carrying personnel and ammunition moved along the Rostov–Novoazovsk–Mariupol–Polohy or Berdyansk corridor.
Additionally, on the Crimea or Kherson–Mariupol–Novoazovsk–Taganrog route, likely toward Sumy, a convoy of over 20 trucks with troops and about 5 transporters carrying BMP or BMD-type armored vehicles was spotted.
"Amid a decline in offensive activity on one side and successful actions by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhia region, an increase in assault attempts near Huliaipole and Orikhiv can be expected in the coming days," Andriushchenko said.
He stressed that the situation requires close monitoring due to the potential Russian escalation in the southern direction.
- On June 9, in temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region, the largest transfer of Russian military equipment in the past six months was recorded. The equipment was moving from Crimea and the Kherson region toward the Sumy region.
