“Largest transfer in six months”: Russia shifts forces from Ukraine’s south to Sumy region
In temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region, the largest transfer of Russian military equipment in the past six months has been recorded. The equipment is moving from Crimea and the Kherson region toward the Sumy region
Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, reported the information.
Over 10 self-propelled artillery units, air defense systems, and columns of over 40 trucks with personnel and ammunition have been recorded in the largest transfer of military equipment from Crimea and the Kherson region in six months.
According to him, this weekend, Russia moved a large amount of military equipment and personnel through Mariupol toward Novoazovsk and then Taganrog.
At least 10 new self-propelled artillery units, an air defense system, and more than 40 trucks with personnel and ammunition were recorded. The tactical marking on the equipment is a triangle within a triangle.
According to Andriushchenko, Russian forces then load the equipment onto trains and transfer it to the Kursk region, effectively heading to the Sumy region.
“This is the largest transfer in six months overall and the first of its kind during the war. The most surprising is the delivery of ‘new’ self-propelled artillery from Crimea. We are investigating,” added the head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation.
- Russian forces are redeploying military equipment and personnel from the Donetsk direction towards the settlements of Rozivka and Polohy in the Zaporizhzhia region.
