Russian military buildup along Chernihiv region border puts Ukrainian forces on high alert
A Russian military presence is being recorded along the border with the Chernihiv region, where the Russian troops are keeping the situation tense and tying down Ukrainian combat units
Vadym Mysnyk, the spokesman of the Siversk Operational-Tactical Group, stated this, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"Along the entire border, we are recording a military presence. That is, they are keeping things tense and tying down our combat units so that we do not transfer (units - ed.) to hotter areas of the front," Mysnyk said.
He also noted that the heaviest shelling and the largest concentration of Russian troops are located in the Kursk region, opposite the Sumy region.
The spokesman added that Russian forces have certain accumulations in the territory of the Kursk region and are trying to expand the zone of active combat operations. However, Ukrainian soldiers are maximally destroying the enemy and preventing them from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.
- In the past day, the occupying Russian army lost 990 soldiers on the front line, along with various weapons and equipment, including 222 drones.
- Since morning on May 26, 102 clashes took place along the front line with the heaviest fighting on Pokrovsk and Kursk directions, where Ukrainian forces actively repelled enemy attacks.
