Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets believes that Russia's capture of Ivanivske near Chasiv Yar will not affect the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area

He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel

“We should understand that when speaking about the situation on the frontline near Chasiv Yar, it has been and remains very difficult. The peculiarity of this area is that there is the Siverskyi Donets Canal, which is a natural obstacle for the enemy. Now the occupation forces are trying to act from three directions. In particular, Bohdanivka, the Canal area and Ivanivske with an attempt to advance to the west,” explained Zgurets.

According to the analyst, the capture of Ivanivske by Russians will not affect the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Chasiv Yar

"Ivanivske near Chasiv Yar is considered a gray zone. Russian paratroopers are operating in this zone. Yesterday I had a conversation with a soldier of the 93rd Brigade, which is holding the defense near Klishchiivka, Andriivka and Ivanivske. According to him, the enemy carried out active artillery shelling yesterday. In any case, the enemy's advances in Ivanivske near Chasiv Yar do not affect the stability of the Ukrainian defense. In fact, over the two years of hostilities, the occupying Russian troops have managed to advance 20 kilometers from the contact line since 2014,” he added.

  • On June 10, the spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, Nazar Voloshyn, said that the town of Chasiv Yar was fully controlled by units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
  • On June 11, the DeepState analytical center reported that the Russian occupation army had captured Ivanivske, near Chasiv Yar.
