Russia to resume military logistics via Volnovakha after Vuhledar occupation — Information Resistance

Military-political analyst with the Information Resistance group, Oleksandr Kovalenko, believes Russia could restore rail logistics from Donetsk to Volnovakha after occupying Vuhledar

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"The occupation of Vuhledar has several negative consequences for Ukraine," explained Kovalenko. "Previously, we maintained complete fire control over the railway line from Donetsk to Volnovakha. With the Russian capture of Vuhledar, they will gain the opportunity to restore active military logistics through Volnovakha, which could occur in the near future. This could enable the resumption of rail logistics along this section of the front, particularly toward the south and the Zaporizhzhia region. This development represents a significant negative impact of the Russian occupation of Vuhledar."

According to the expert, the Ukrainian Defense Forces still have the capacity to disrupt the Russian logistics route.

"However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces retain the ability to strike this section of the frontline," he stated. "We can effectively target and destroy these logistics routes, particularly with the assistance of HIMARS MLRS, ATACMS, and Storm Shadow missiles," he added.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' withdrawal from Vuhledar

On October 1, the DeepState OSINT portal claimed that Russian troops had managed to capture the town of Vuhledar, Donetsk region. Suspilne's sources in the brigade defending the town denied the full occupation.

However, on October 2, Ukrainian Defense Forces officially withdrew from Vuhledar, Donetsk region, in order to preserve personnel and military equipment and to take up a position for further operations.

A soldier from the 72nd Brigade shared information on the withdrawal of Ukrainian soldiers from Vuhledar on the basis of anonymity.

“Before the brigade was redeployed to the Donetsk region, we had a fully operational unit and a full staff. But over two years of fighting without rotations and rest, we turned into an incapacitated unit, the brigade was wiped out,” said the Ukrainian soldier.
