This was stated by Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, on the United News telethon.
According to him, Russian forces are trying to reach the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway from Ocheretyne.
"Fierce fighting continues in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. The enemy has deployed up to four brigades of the Russian Armed Forces there and plans to develop an offensive west of Avdiivka and Marinka, making its way to Pokrovsk and Kurakhove," noted Voloshyn.
The spokesman emphasized that in general, the Russian troops have achieved some tactical success in this area, but they have not gained an operational advantage.
He emphasized that in order to strengthen the defense, Ukrainian brigades are being redeployed, having restored their combat capability.
