Ukraine's Radio Technical Troops track nearly one million Russian air targets since war started
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine's Radio Technical Troops have tracked nearly a million airborne targets launched by Russian forces into Ukraine
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this while congratulating the soldiers of the Radio Technical Troops on their professional holiday on November 30.
Thus, according to their data, since the beginning of the great war with Russia, they have detected and tracked more than 345,000 Russian targets:
- 175,000 airplanes
- 100,000 helicopters,
- 57,000 drones,
- over 13,000 missiles of various types.
“This branch of the military is called the eyes of the Air Force. Around the clock, Radio Technical Troops servicemen detect and escort hundreds of Russian planes, helicopters, drones, bombs and missiles. They never go into hiding during Russian attacks, because their task is to identify the enemy target as quickly as possible and pass this information on to command posts. And to do this, you need to be, as they say, on top of your game. After receiving information about enemy targets, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units activate their assets,” the Air Force emphasized.
They added that many servicemen of the Radio Technical Troops are currently taking an active part in combat operations, defending the country from the aggressor side by side with their comrades-in-arms, destroying Russian drones and missiles every day and night as part of mobile fire groups.
- In particular, during the last massive attack on Ukraine, at night and in the morning of November 28, the Russian aggressor launched 188 air targets at the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 79 missiles and 35 drones.
