General Kryvonos sees signs of Russian army's preparations for a full-scale offensive
Serhiy Kryvonos, a retired Major General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noted that Russia is conducting offensive actions in order to probe the front line and assess Ukrainian response to threats along various sections
He shared this during a broadcast on Espreso.
"Regarding the offensive, the enemy has only just begun offensive actions in certain areas. It is still too early to speak of a full-scale offensive. Judging by how the Russians are conducting certain operations, I see that they are merely preparing for a more large-scale offensive. The enemy is currently reinforcing its second echelon, possibly anticipating some of our counteroffensives or counterstrikes. Secondly, they are actively studying the capabilities of our electronic warfare systems, trying to locate them in the field," the general remarked.
According to him, Russia is calculating all possible courses of action, which is why they have pulled their command posts more than 30 kilometers back from the front line, being aware of the capabilities of our firepower systems.
"In addition, the invaders are actively conducting reconnaissance of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' firepower assets, identifying priority targets. All of this indicates that they are preparing for a potential offensive. Also, occupying forces are gradually probing our defense along various sections of the front, deploying forces ranging from squad to platoon level. Therefore, from a professional military perspective, this is not yet the offensive itself, but rather offensive actions aimed at probing the front line and assessing our response to threats in different sectors," Serhiy Kryvonos commented.
On April 11, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 75 combat engagements on the front. Notably, in the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers attempted 26 times to push back Ukrainian positions.
