
Explosion at Czech ammunition warehouse injures one person
The explosion occurred at an ammunition warehouse, leading to one serious injury. Emergency services responded promptly with helicopters
On Tuesday morning, March 25, an explosion occurred at an ammunition warehouse of the Poličské strojírny company in the town of Polička, Pardubice Region, Czech Republic. As a result of the incident, one person sustained serious injuries.
This was reported by the Czech publication iROZHLAS.
According to the rescue services, the explosion took place at 8:54 AM. Two rescue teams and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
“It was an explosion at an ammunition warehouse. People were evacuated. There is one injured person,” said rescue spokesperson Olena Kisiala.
The injured person was airlifted to a hospital in Olomouc by helicopter.
As reported by the spokesperson for Polička, Naděžda Šauerová, due to the incident, the road from Polička to Korouhvice is closed until further notice.
Czech police suggested that the most likely cause of the explosion was a violation of technological processes during production.
