Russian troops take tactical pause: UK intelligence assesses frontline situation
Russian troops are likely to have taken a tactical pause in the Chasiv Yar area, conducting probing attacks and reconnaissance. The Avdiivka-Pokrovsk section is the hottest area
The UK Defense Ministry reports.
The Russian army continues offensive actions on several sections of the front line, with the main effort focused on the Avdiivka – Pokrovsk area in the Donetsk region.
According to the intelligence officers, the invaders have continued to advance north and west of the town of Ocheretyne, expanding their wedge toward Pokrovsk. Additionally, in the Avdiivka – Pokrovsk sector, the Russian forces have made slight progress towards the town of New York.
“Near the Donetsk Oblast town of Chasiv Yar, there have been no significant changes in territorial control. It has been reported that major Russian infantry assaults have stopped over the past few days and that Russian forces are largely operating in dispersed small, dismounted squads. Russian forces in this area are likely taking a tactical pause while conducting probing attacks and reconnaissance activity,” intelligence reports.
- Since the beginning of July 19, 76 combat engagements have been reported along the frontline. Russian forces are most active in the Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors, and Russia has dropped 26 guided aerial bombs in the Kharkiv region.
