He shared the information on Espreso TV.

"Today I talked to the soldiers who have just returned from Chasiv Yar. So I want to inform you that thanks to the fortifications of 2016-2018, we are now able to restrain the enemy's advance to the city. Also, one of our advantages is the Donetsk ridge, the landscape of which is not very fit for an offensive," Dovbnia emphasized.

According to Dovbnia, fierce fighting is taking place in every section of the frontline in the Donetsk region.

"Almost a month ago, I was in Toretsk, which is located 5 kilometers from the occupied Horlivka. This city is the only direction where the enemy has not been able to advance in the Donetsk region since 2014. Today, very heavy fighting is taking place there and the Russians continue to shell the civilian population," he added.

  • On March 15, the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces reported that they had managed to stop another offensive and destroy Russian armored vehicles with the support of a neighboring unit in the Bakhmut direction.
  • Since February 24, 2022, Russia has lost about 431,550 soldiers, 6,809 tanks and 13,014 armored fighting vehicles in the war with Ukraine.
  • On March 19, Andriy Otchenash, the crew commander of the Kara Nebesna UAVcrew of the 4th Rubizh Operational Brigade, said that Ukrainian defenders are managing to stabilize the situation in the Bakhmut direction.
