175 combat clashes in a day: Russian troops fire over 4,000 times on Ukraine

On December 9, 175 clashes occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian forces primarily attacked Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk direction

Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported the inforomation on December 10. 

According to the updated information, Russian troops launched 37 air strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, dropping 57 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out more than 4,000 attacks, including 115 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 1,617 kamikaze drones.  

 Russian air strikes targeted 9 settlements across Ukraine.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian Defense Forces' missile forces struck a Russian control center.  

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops conducted six offensives near Hlyboke and Vovchansk.  

The number of combat clashes in the Kupyansk direction reached seven over the last day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near Lozova and Zahryzove.  

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops stopped 14 Russian attacks. Russian troops concentrated their main efforts near Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Nadiia, Makiivka, Torske and Yampolivka. 

Ukrainian forces stopped two Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar and Orikhovo-Vasylivka in the Kramatorsk direction.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces tried to advance eight times in the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbynivka and Nelipivka.  

Ukrainian troops fought off 51 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction over the last day. Russian troops are most active near Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Promin, Dachanske, Chumatske and Shevchenko.

The Ukrainian defense forces are holding back Russian troops in the Kurakhove direction. In the areas of Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Zoria, Dalne, Dachne and Kurakhove, Russian forces tried to break through Ukrainian defenses 40 times. 

Twenty-seven Russian attacks were stopped by Ukrainian defenders in the direction of Kostiantynopil, Novosilka and near Sukhi Yaly, Storozheve, Neskuchne and Blahodatne in the Vremivka direction.  

The Russian troops made seven unsuccessful attempts to seize Ukrainian positions in the Prydniprovskyi sector over the last day.  

Along the Belarus border, no signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv region, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts reconnaissance activities and artillery shelling.  

Ukrainian defense forces continue operations in the Kursk region, where Russian troops conducted 11 assaults on Ukrainian positions over the past day. 

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost at least 1,350 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 5 Russian tanks and 14 drones.
