May Day parade canceled in Moscow
No festive demonstrations will be held in the Russian capital until May 1 due to the high risk of a terrorist threat
Russian media reported this with reference to the vice president of the Federation of Trade Unions, Alexander Shershukov.
“There will be no marches and rallies in the capital, but a solemn meeting is planned, which will be attended by trade union activists, trade union leaders and some representatives of social partners,” Shershukov said.
The reason for the cancellation of the parade was the high probability of a terrorist threat, including even in regions far from the sites of the 'special military operation,' namely the war in Ukraine.
The Russian authorities decided not to organize the traditional May 9 parade in Kursk: they fear for the safety of participants and spectators.
Local authorities in Belgorod, Russia, canceled a military parade on May 9 to avoid risking equipment and people.

Celebrating May 9 could expose the extent of Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine, which the authorities are trying to hide. That is why parades are being canceled en masse in Russian cities.
