British intelligence explains why Russian cities massively cancel May 9 parades

The information is evidenced by British intelligence data published by the UK Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
The intelligence service reminded that the official reason for the cancellation of parades in the occupied Crimea, in Russian Belgorod and Kursk was security problems near the border.
As noted in the report, some Russian cities located further away from Ukraine have confirmed that they plan to hold celebrations of the so-called Victory Day.
According to British intelligence, the different approaches highlight a delicate communication problem for the Kremlin. Putin is formulating a "special military operation" in the spirit of the Soviet experience of World War II.
The authorities do not want to cause unnecessary anxiety among Russians, lest they realize how much of a failure the so-called special operation in Ukraine has been.
"Honouring the fallen of previous generations could easily blur into exposing the scope of the recent losses, which the Kremlin attempts to cover up," the British Ministry of Defense said.
