Macron tells Xi Jinping that nuclear weapons' deployment in other countries is unacceptable
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that it is unacceptable to deploy nuclear weapons outside the borders of countries that possess them. Russia must comply with international obligations

He said this at a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on April 6.
“Under no circumstances can nuclear weapons be deployed outside the territory of the nuclear-weapon states,” Macron said.
“We have the basics of what we need to protect in order to build a lasting peace,” he added.
Macron believes that China and France should work to preserve the international order and remind Russia of its responsibilities.

At a meeting with French President Macron, Chinese leader Xi Jinping called for the start of peace talks on Ukraine as soon as possible. Macron hopes that his Chinese counterpart can influence Russia to end the war.
