Le Pen calls Crimea legitimate part of Russia
The leader of the French far-right Marine Le Pen has called the occupied Crimea a legitimate part of Russia, claiming that the will of the peninsula's residents was allegedly freely expressed

She said this at a hearing on foreign interference in the French National Assembly, BFMTV reports.
“I have repeatedly had to express my position on the accession of Crimea... I believe that the people of Crimea have freely expressed themselves by voting to join Russia,” Le Pen said.
In her opinion, there was no annexation.
The politician claims that during a trip to Crimea in June 2013, she saw people gravitating toward Russia rather than Ukraine.

Earlier, Le Pen said that Ukraine's victory over Russia would allegedly unleash World War III.
