Latvia provides medical care to wounded Ukrainian soldiers
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia announced that in 2023 it is planned to provide medical assistance to 120 wounded Ukrainian soldiers
LSM portal reports this with a reference to Liga Mengelsone, Latvian Minister of Health.
"We continue the cooperation of Latvian and Ukrainian medical institutions, and Latvia plans to provide medical assistance to wounded Ukrainian soldiers this year as well," she said.
It is noted that the minister made the relevant statement during a meeting with microsurgeons Olaf Liebermans and Martinš Malzubris to discuss the possibilities of reconstructive surgery in Latvian hospitals.
According to the minister, Latvia will continue supporting Ukrainians. Currently the country helps victims of the war within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the two countries. In total, it is planned to admit about 120 wounded Ukrainian soldiers this year.
In 2022, 130 wounded were transported to Latvia and were treated at the Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital and the Vaivari National Rehabilitation Center.
