Kubrakov on grain exports: "I believe that we are signing this agreement on our terms"
Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, who signed the agreement on opening up Ukrainian ports for the export of grain, explains how the agreements will work
He told about this on the air of a joint telethon.
According to him, the agreement was signed on favorable terms for Ukraine. Grain export can begin "in a few days".
"I believe that we are signing this agreement on our terms, because our water area is fully controlled by us. In a few days, we will be technically ready to start exporting from our ports on the Black Sea. This is important, because the harvest that we have already started to collect, there will be nowhere to store it in a month.
He informed that grain will be exported from three ports: Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdennyi. He emphasized that "no one will check anything in our water area".
"They (Russia) are given guarantees that they will not attack and a corridor along which the ships will move will be determined. This is recorded in our agreements with the UN and in the agreements with the Russian Federation. In this corridor, not a single Russian ship or aircraft will approach it. Regarding the review in the Bosphorus area, a group will be formed. It will include representatives of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and the Russian Federation. It is important for us that no ship with any unexpected cargo arrives at our ports", the minister said.
Kubrakov also noted that the signing of this agreement took place due to Ukrainian Armed Forces' successful actions, in particular, the liberation of Zmiinyi Island. He added that now Russian ships do not come close to the distance of hitting missiles, and if Russia violates the agreements, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be ready for this.
