Kremlin rejects China's mediation in resolving situation in Ukraine

This was stated by Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports.

"China has a very effective and significant potential to provide mediation services, and China's recent diplomatic successes have eloquently demonstrated this. But the situation with Ukraine is still complicated, showing no prospects for a peaceful settlement," he said.

Peskov emphasized that Russia sees no other way but to continue the war.

• At a meeting with French President Macron, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for the start of peace talks on Ukraine as soon as possible. Macron hopes that his Chinese counterpart can influence Russia to end the war.
