Kremlin believes Orban's government is not kneeling enough - Podolyak comments on list of countries "unfriendly" to Russia
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, believes that Russia has put Hungary on the list of unfriendly countries because it wants other countries to kneel in front of Moskow
He said this in an interview with Channel 24.
"Russia wants countries to kneel down and fulfill literally all its whims. Mr. Orban's government is certainly behaving strangely with regard to a common European concept of war assessment and support for Ukraine. But as I understand it, Russia believes that the Orban government is not very good at kneeling to Russia. It would be desirable for it to bend a little lower. Russia is demonstrating its disdainful attitude," Podolyak said.
He is surprised that some countries consider Russia an equal partner and ally.
"I don't understand these countries. Don't you see what Russia is? Russia constantly demonstrates such an arrogant attitude towards anyone, even its formal allies. Look at how they treat Belarus... They treat other countries in the same way, including Hungary. They sometimes make negative statements about Serbia, and about Georgia as well. I want these countries to understand a simple truth: Russia is not an equal partner, not an ally," he said.
