Frontline situation: Russia attacks in the Avdiivka sector the most

The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian forces did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions over the past day.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the Russian units tried to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed more than 16 attacks in the areas of 6 localities in the Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 22 attacks in the vicinity of 6 settlements in the Donetsk region, where the Russian enemy, supported by air, tried to drive Ukraine's units out of their positions.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back their enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, where Russia's troops, supported by air, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 20 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian army, supported by aviation, made one unsuccessful attempt to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region, over the past day.

In the Kherson direction, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian troops from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, they made 16 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes against Russian troops

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Over the past day, the aviation of Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 areas of personnel concentration and 1 Russian anti-aircraft missile system.

Missile troops destroyed 2 air defense systems, 5 artillery units, 1 control center, 1 UAV control center, 3 areas of weapons and military equipment concentration, and 1 other important Russian object.

  • On April 5, 72 combat clashes took place at the frontline. Occupation forces tried to break through Ukrainian defense in the Novopavlivka direction 10 times.
