Frontline situation: almost 90 combat clashes, most of Russia's attacks repelled in Donetsk region

Thus, according to Ukraine's General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 Russian attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repulsed 6 attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region, and Hryhorivka, Vesele, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 5 Russia's attacks near Andriivka and Klishchiivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Ukrainian defenders keep holding back the Russian enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukraine's soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the attackers. Thus, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 Russia's attacks near Avdiivka and 17 more attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the last day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the Russian aggressor in the areas of 4 localities in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 26 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Defense Forces rebuffed four hostile attacks south of Zolota Nyva and west of Staromayorsk in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukraine's military repelled 8 attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukraine's defense forces continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Thus, over the past day, they carried out 9 unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, the Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Russian troops continue to suffer significant losses in eastern Ukraine

According to the General Staff, only from January 6 to January 10 this year, hospitals and medical institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry received many personnel participating in the fighting in the temporarily occupied Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Thus, over 300 invading Russian soldiers with severe injuries arrived in Chernyanka, Valuyki and Rovenki in Belgorod region from the temporarily occupied Luhansk, almost 250 Russian soldiers with extremely severe injuries arrived in Belgorod, and about 150 Russian servicemen were sent to Moscow and Kaliningrad, who cannot be helped in frontline hospitals due to the lack of qualified doctors.

The field hospitals of the Russian Defense Ministry are overcrowded and cannot cope with the number of injured soldiers who arrive in large numbers every day after the 'cannon fodder' assaults.

Russia launched 7 missile attacks on Ukraine, Ukraine hit over 20 areas where Russian troops are concentrated

In addition, the Russian Federation launched 65 more air strikes and fired 44 missile attacks from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukraine's troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Four settlements in the Kharkiv region, two in Luhansk region and eight in Donetsk region were hit by air strikes.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

At the same time, during the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 21 areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, as well as 4 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile units struck 6 areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, a command post, an artillery unit, 2 air defense facilities, an ammunition depot and a Russian radar station.
