Russia bombs medical clinic in Kharkiv, injuring 17 people

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Russian army struck the city’s Industrialnyi district with a guided bomb.

As of 11:36 a.m., there was one reported injury.

Later, the mayor clarified that the bomb had hit a medical facility: "In the Industrialnyi district, a KAB struck the building of a medical institution. Nearby is another facility used to treat people. The consequences are being clarified. So far, there is one confirmed injury," he said.

Just minutes later, it was confirmed that at least one person was killed and six others were injured.

According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, a 12-year-old girl was among the injured. She suffered an acute stress reaction.

It was also reported that a private home near the medical facility was damaged by the blast.

As of 12:25 p.m., the number of injured had risen to seven. Three people were hospitalized.

At 4:59 p.m., reports indicated that the number of injured had risen to 12, with 4 people taken to medical facilities.

Later, Oleh Syniehubov shared photos showing the aftermath of the Russian strike on Kharkiv’s Industrialnyi district. He also reported that three people, who are patients of the medical facility, may be trapped under the rubble.

At 6:10 p.m., the State Emergency Service (SES) reported that emergency rescue operations had been completed.

"As a result of the Russian terrorist attack on the medical facility, 17 people were injured, including one child," the statement said.

"Rescuers managed to save four people," the SES added.

A total of 46 rescue workers and 8 units of equipment were involved in the response, along with SES psychologists, dog handlers, and bomb disposal experts.
