Taras Myshak, senior communications officer of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, said this on Espreso TV.

“Currently, the Russians are attacking less frequently, but they have not stopped shelling, using guided bombs, drone strikes, and artillery fire. Their infantry may be running low, but their ammunition and all means of attack are still abundant.

We must acknowledge our drone operators and infantry — they fight like lions and destroy Russians daily on an industrial scale. So, of course, the enemy is not unlimited either,” Myshak noted.

According to the officer, the Russians do not intend to enter the city with large forces. Primarily, they are trying to encircle Pokrovsk to avoid the massive losses they suffered in Bakhmut and Avdiivka. Now, they are focused on encircling the city and cutting off its logistics.

“Pokrovsk is a springboard for further advances; it is a major logistics hub, a large city located practically on the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region. Without capturing Pokrovsk, they cannot advance further. That’s why they are concentrating considerable efforts here now,” Myshak added.

  • On July 24, 174 combat clashes took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 57 Russian assaults.
