Maksym Strelnyk, a member of the Izyum City Council, notes that Izyum is a strategic goal in the war for both armies

He shared his opinion with "Espreso.TV” live on air.

"Having lost the Izyum bridgehead, Russian occupiers will forget about entering the borders of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic. The battle for Izyum will be crucial in the battle for Donbas and may lead to a cascading effect, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces will suppress the morale of the enemy and Ukraine will be able to get the long-awaited turning point of the entire war," Strelnyk believes.

According to him, Ukrainian Armed Forces en masse capture Russian occupiers.

"One of the largest military groups of the enemy is concentrated in Izyum and poses a serious problem in the liberation of the city. We hope that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to implement the plan so that this group will be left without means of supplying weapons and reserves," Strelnyk added.
