Israel to reconsider policy on arms supplies to Ukraine

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered to review the policy of supplying Ukraine with weapons. He has assured the US that he would not take a pro-Russian position

The outlet notes that Israel has long rejected requests from the Biden administration and other governments to provide military assistance to Ukraine, fearing tensions with Russia. But now Netanyahu has ordered a review of this policy. He assured the US that he would not take a pro-Russian position.

Some high-ranking Israeli officials are in favor of allowing third countries to transfer certain Israeli weapons systems to Ukraine.

However, the outlet’s sources do not expect significant changes in the country's policy.

Earlier, Netanyahu said that he was studying the possibility of providing Ukraine with the Iron Dome air defense system.
On January 18, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Reznikov said that Ukraine calls on Israel to cooperate in any way, but so far to no avail.
