Ireland investigates how its components end up in Iranian-made Shahed drones
Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said the country has launched an investigation after Ireland-made parts were found in Shahed drones used by Russia
He said this at a press conference in Kyiv after meeting with President Zelenskyy.
The official said he did not believe that Irish companies had violated sanctions.
"We are aware of the downing of this drone. We are conducting an investigation. We do not believe that any Irish companies could have violated the sanctions," he said.
“We don’t believe any Irish companies have evaded sanctions, but there are third parties that find ways around the sanctions, and it’s really important that we crack down on that and we do take it very seriously,” Varadkar added.
