In Kherson region, 44 settlements remain flooded; in Mykolaiv region, water level drops by 8 cm
As a result of Russian troops destroying the Kakhovka HPP, 44 settlements in the Kherson region remain flooded: 27 on the right bank of Dnipro, 17 on the temporarily occupied left bank
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.
"As for the current situation, the water level is currently at 2.4 meters. 44 settlements remain flooded: 27 are on the right bank, 17 are on the temporarily occupied left bank," the head said.The area of flooded agricultural land has decreased by 600 hectares. As of the morning of June 15, 1,923 houses remain submerged on the right bank of the Kherson region, which is 150 less than last night.
"As soon as the water level falls, we immediately start resuming work - demining, surveying, cleaning up the areas that were previously submerged. Such works are currently underway in a number of settlements," noted Prokudin.
He also noted that 2,782 people were evacuated from the right bank of Dnipro river, including 39 children and 80 people with limited mobility.
Prokudin added that the epidemiological situation in the region remains stable, according to the head, no cases of infectious diseases have been detected.
Also, according to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, the water level in the city dropped by 8 cm overnight. As of June 15, 9:00 a.m., the water level in Mykolaiv's aquatorium is at 28 cm above the normal level.
