European Parliament recognizes Russian explosion of Kakhovka HPP as war crime
Members of the European Parliament have condemned the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and called it a war crime that will have consequences
Ukrinform reported this with reference to the European Parliament's statement following the plenary session in Strasbourg.
“MEPs denounced the destruction of Ukraine’s Nova Kakhovka dam, the latest war crime committed by Russia and one that must be met with consequences. They called for the EU to continue its strong support for Ukraine, for new sanctions against Russia, and for the billions of frozen assets by Russian oligarchs to be used to reconstruct Ukraine,” the statement says.
At the European Parliament meeting, politicians also discussed preparations for the next meeting of the European Council, which is scheduled for the end of June in Brussels.
