In Bakhmut direction, Russians suffer losses and give up tonight’s assault
Russian troops suffered losses in the Bakhmut direction and abandoned the assault at night on March 16
This was announced by the AFU Special Operations Forces on Facebook.
"In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy once again attacked our defensive positions with manpower. Four Russian soldiers were eliminated, another 3 were wounded," the report says.
It is noted that the enemy suffered losses and abandoned tonight’s assault. Intercepted Russian soldiers’ conversations confirmed the result of the special forces' work.

On March 15, Ukrainian military shot down a Russian bomber, probably a Su-24, in the direction of Bakhmut, while the border guards repelled two Russian assaults, eliminated five and wounded 16 enemies.

In the battles for Bakhmut, Russia’s regular army and Wagner Group lost 20,000 to 30,000 killed and wounded, said Ian Stubbs, senior military adviser to the British OSCE delegation.

The General Staff notes that Russia lost at least 1,040 soldiers, an airplane and 13 drones in Ukraine on March 15.
