The IMF Managing Director reiterated that 2023 will be another difficult year, with global growth slowing to below 3% due to the effects of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and monetary tightening.
At the China Development Forum, she said that even with a better outlook for 2024, global growth would remain well below the historical average of 3.8%, and the overall outlook remains weak.
The G7 countries have agreed to defer repayment of loans to Ukraine until 2027, when the current IMF program ends.
