IL-76MD military transport aircraft explodes during testing at Russia's Ulyanovsk plant
During the testing of a military transport aircraft at the Ulyanovsk Aircraft Plant in Russia, one person was killed and 6 more were injured
Russian media report that the Ulyanovsk Aircraft Plant used a powerful jet of compressed air to test the strength of the IL-76MD fuselage. The aircraft failed the test.
As a result, the aircraft was depressurized and then completely destroyed.
One person was killed and six others were injured and hospitalized.
An inspection is currently underway at the IL-Aviastar facility.
