Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has called Ukraine's possible membership in NATO unacceptable and promised to do everything to prevent the Alliance from becoming a party to a conflict with Russia

Speaking on April 5, in Brussels, he said that it was completely unrealistic to talk about Ukraine's NATO membership.
Hungary’s foreign minister said that the decision that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is not a party to the war in Ukraine should be implemented in the future. Hungary will do everything to prevent a possible direct conflict between NATO and Russia, the diplomat emphasized.
“Anything that threatens to make NATO a part of this war is unacceptable to us,” he said.
