Anushauskas wrote about this on Facebook.
According to him, despite the admiration of Gorbachev in the West, he was the leader of a criminal communist party and did not apologize for his actions.
"He was a criminal, from the point of view of a democratic state, who ordered the brutal suppression of peaceful protests in Vilnius, Tbilisi, Alma-Ata, Baku and other cities. There was no remorse. The dead are talked about well or not. But not this time. The only plus - he signed the capitulation of the Soviet Union. Did he end the Cold War and tear down the Berlin Wall? No. Peoples who wanted freedom did it," Anushauskas wrote.
