Germany announces largest 2.7 billion euros aid package for Ukraine

Germany has announced a new €2.7 billion aid package for Ukraine, which will include 4 IRIS-T-SLM anti-aircraft missile systems, 30 Leopard tanks and 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, announced this on Telegram.

According to him, Germany has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth 2.7 billion euros.

"It is known that the package may include: 20 Marder armoured personnel carriers, 30 Leopard tanks, four IRIS-T-SLM air defence systems (12 launchers and hundreds of missiles for them), 200 reconnaissance UAVs, 100 armoured vehicles, 100 logistics vehicles, 15 Gepard and a large amount of ammunition," Yermak wrote.

According to Spigel, the new aid package will be the largest since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion that Ukraine has received from Germany. It is expected to be officially announced during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Berlin.

Information about the new aid package for Ukraine was later confirmed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

"With this valuable contribution of urgently needed military materials, we are once again showing that Germany is serious about support. Unfortunately, there is still no end in sight to Russia's illegal war against the Ukrainian people, so Germany will provide assistance as long as it is needed," Pistorius said.
