At least 523 children killed, over 1218 injured as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine
As of February 9, 2024, 1218 children have been injured and 523 have died in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression
Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office reported the information.
It noted that over 1,741 children have suffered in Ukraine from the full-scale invasion launched by Russia.
"As of the morning of February 9, 2024, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 523 children were killed and more than 1,218 suffered injuries of varying severity," the statement said.
The highest number of children affected were in the following regions:
- Donetsk region - 509
- Kharkiv region - 328
- Kherson region - 146
- Kyiv region - 130
- Dnipropetrovsk region - 111
- Mykolaiv region - 101
- Zaporizhzhia region - 100
- Chernihiv region - 72
- Luhansk region - 67.
However, prosecutors note that these figures are not final.
